Song to Contemplate: Jonathan Richman, Parties in the USA

When you think about it, Jonathan Richman is making a pretty absurd claim in this song: We need more parties in the USA. According to Miley Cyrus, we got 'em, and I saw plenty of them as an undergrad. But over the course of the song, singing haphazardly over the Hang on Sloopy every-rock-song-for-the-first-ten-years-of-the-genre-riff, and especially during his rant about modern stereo equipment, he sure convinces me. How about you?

Song (and very YOUTUBE video) to Contemplate

Okay, so.

If you have never heard "Smart Girls," Brian Wilson's sort-of-lost rap song, then, um, prepare. Not that you can. But you will wish that you could have:

Song (and awesome video) to Contemplate

Apologies for the delay in posting. I've been working a bunch of hours the last couple
days. Here is the video for the song 'We Want War" by These New Puritans. Since
we live in the 21st century, it is a 7-minute lead-off single for their new album.
As with the much longer "Like a Possum" I posted a bit ago, I recommend giving
the whole song a chance, because my opinion changed by the minute with this one.
What do you guys think?

Song to Contemplate

Sometimes I like to just take a song in and then think about it as many different ways as I can while I'm driving or at work or what have you. Some songs really lend themselves to that. Here's one for you to evaluate.

This is kind of a difficult song, which may or may not make total sense since it's Lou Reed in 2000. It is 18+ minutes, and called "Like a Possum". I have some views on it, but right now I just want you to listen to it and think about it for awhile. Make sure you have time for the whole thing.
